The Advanced studio photography Module 1 runs in Cape Town and follows on to the basic course.

• Lighting Characteristics & Flash Exposure - Learning about the direction & quality of lighting using studio flash equipment and how to modify
it using various light shaping tools.
• Control of Contrast & Common Lighting Problems - How to control your flash exposure inside the studio to stay within a certain SBR.
• Practical: Studio
• Low Key Studio Still Life - Learning the basics of studio lighting and how to create moody / dramatic lighting using a single light source.
• High Key Studio Portrait - Looking at the work of Richard Avedon & using high key lighting for a portrait.
• Assessment time, Feedback & Q&A - A selection of each student’s best photographs are assessed at the end of each practical day.
