Food & Fashion - June ‘11
On Saturday morning we had our food & fashion shoot. At first the weather looked a little unpredictable, but as always it turned out to be an incredible morning! We had the great privilege of working with art director, stylist & conceptual thinker, Marcii Goose and professional model, Taniel Telo from Faith Model Management. They were both such a treat to work with and the images turned out beautifully!

On Saturday morning we had our first food & fashion workshop for 2011! We had the privilege of working with food & lifestyle photographer, Berna Coetzee, stylist, Janine Bosman and model, Saira Ramgoolam.
Food & Fashion
On Saturday morning we shot some food & fashion at The Planet Art as our last class & practical session of the year! Our stylist, Rasheda Samuels, did an amazing job with both the food & fashion, and we had the privilidge of working with Alexa Pearce as model. Thank you to everybody who made this morning so much fun and well done to the students for their beautiful pics, I know it was another early Saturday morning… :-)
Cupcakes & Ribbons
On Saturday morning we had our first food & fashion shoot at The Planet Art. The natural light streaming through the big open windows was soft & beautiful, and thanks to our amazing stylist, Rasheda Samuels, everything looked absolutely incredible!
For the foodshoot we had two set-ups: one more bold with red, black & white ribbons, cake & candy and the other soft, pastel & playful.
The Fashion shoot was done outside in the courtyard and our model, Andrea Bester, looked gorgeous in a KLUK CGDT dress, vintage belt & jacket and hair & make-up done by Spoilt.
Portrait Shoot
On the same Saturday morning as the food shoot we also photographed a portrait. This was shot outdoors in natural light, with a beautiful overcast sky, using mainly a pop-up reflector to fill in shadow areas. The students had to direct the model to get the best composition and angle. We also touched on balancing flash with available light using your pop-up or external flash.
Foodshoot
For our foodshoot we went to a stunning Photographic studio opposite Dunkley Square. The students learnt how to photograph food in natural light using reflectors and a couple of props for styling. Christien, our foodstylist made the most beautiful & delicious cupcakes and shared on her experience in the industry. Thereafter, professional food & lifestyle photographer Berna Coetzee, did a demonstration and gave some valuable hints & tips on photographing food. Looking forward to the next workshop!
